During a recent visit to Israel, US President Donald Trump said he’d come to "reaffirm the unbreakable bond" between the US and Israel. He flew to Tel Aviv direct from Saudi Arabia, where at a summit he urged Arab and Muslim leaders to "drive out" so-called Islamist extremists. At brief talks with Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank, Trump also spoke of being gratified that the Palestinian leader had committed to taking necessary steps to "fight terrorism".
